wankhede: Exclusive: Sameer Wankhede is sacrificing his personal life, kids for the nation and I am proud of him, says wife and Marathi actress Kranti Redkar

Marathi actress Kranti Redkar often grabs headlines for her powerful on-screen performances and now she is in news for a different reason. Kranti is the wife of Sameer Wankhede, the Zonal Director with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). He is investigating Bollywood’s alleged links with drugs. Sameer Wankhede is known for his investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput drug case and Mumbai cruise drug raid which led to the arrest of Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan.

However, Sameer has been in the news for his work, and his wife and actress is proud of her husband and his dedication. In an exclusive chat with ETimes TV, Kranti spoke about his high-profile drug raids, Sameer’s sacrifices for the nation, and how she tries to maintain the peaceful environment at home.

Talking about husband Sameer Wankhede’s recent high profile drug raids, Kranti said, “Sameer has always been a hard worker. His operations and cases were there even before too. Today, he is dealing with Bollywood-related drug probe cases, which is why it is getting highlighted. I give him his space when he is investigating or working on operations. I never ask him what happened, how it happened because I respect the secrecy of his job. I take care of everything at home, which is why he can concentrate on his cases more.”

Kranti shared that Sameer doesn’t reveal anything about the drug probe cases to his family. She said, “He sometimes gets so busy that he can’t even sleep. He works 24/7. He barely sleeps for 2 hours. I never interfere or get involved when he is talking over the phone about a certain case. He does secret operations on an everyday basis, and he is not even allowed to reveal anything related to that with his family. I give him his space and never complain about anything. Sameer is in such a field where he can not sit idle for a minute. Even after coming home, he discusses the operations with his team over the phone. I never ask him, ‘Kya hua batana..Kaise hua..kya kiya’. I maintain the secrecy of his job and respect the profession.’

Talking about how their kids miss their dad at home, Kranti revealed, “Our twin babies sometimes miss him at home, which is obvious. They are three-year-old, and missing their father at home is obvious for them. But Sameer knows I am there at home to take care of his family, kids and he does not have to worry about anything. I am so proud that Sameer is sacrificing his personal life, kids and family for the nation.”

Sameer has started giving interviews to the media and opening up about his cases in front of the press. Talking about it, Kranti laughed and said, “I am so happy that finally, he has started giving interviews to the media. He never opens up about anything to anyone. He is an introvert and very reserved. He never smiles. I have asked him to smile while giving interviews but he smirks. But yes, he is NCB officer Sameer Wankhede, and I respect and love the way he is. I am so proud of him.”
