Globe honored as Industry Champion, Best Workplace in Asia at ACES Awards 2021
Globe was honored as Industry Champion of the Year and Asia’s Best Workplace of the Year by the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES) 2021 for sustaining its position as market leader and ensuring that its employees are enabled and empowered.
The ACES awards are presented to companies around the region that have championed the new ideals of leadership — investing in employees and espousing causes that strengthen corporate social responsibility. It also recognizes the services and achievements of both large and small businesses and their contributions to their communities and the world.
“We are delighted to be recognized for our efforts. Globe’s philosophy – Circle of Happiness – aims to empower a high-performing workplace, focusing on national development. This is achieved through the continuous development of a culture of diversity, collaboration, empowerment and innovation to keep employees Engaged, Enabled and Energized,” said Renato Jiao, Globe Chief Human Resource Officer.
During the ACES Awards three years ago, Globe earned the distinction of being the only company in the award’s history to win the top workplaces in Asia three consecutive times.
As Industry Champion, Globe showed its distinct competitive edge as an industry trendsetter with commendable best practices in place. Being a market leader, Globe also showcased its ability to evolve its focus along with the dynamic changes of the industry that it serves.
Likewise, Globe was hailed as Best Workplace for its people-centric approach and proving its strong commitment towards employee empowerment and enrichment. This was done through investment in people, recognition, and retention, improving employee’s job satisfaction, practicing fair communication, and promoting work-life balance.
Globe remains committed to sustainability in the workplace through diversity, including non-discriminatory policies that assure benefits to the family of LGBTQ+ employees. It promotes employee empowerment via collaborative and diverse learning experiences and a flexible work policy and technical support programs for those working from home. Globe also ensures employee engagement through a 24/7 mental health consultation service via HopeChat and various interest groups and events to foster well-being.
In supply chain management, Globe’s partner vendors and suppliers are encouraged to commit to support the economic, social, and governance aspects of sustainability that the company espouses to help contribute to sustainable development.
Shanggari Balakrishnan, Chief Executive Officer of the MORS Group, which organized the awards, said 2021 has proven to be a continuation of the challenge that was 2020.
“And yet, as with many things, silver linings are to be found for those who look hard enough. As a captain of industry, you will know that trials bring out the mettle in leadership. If 2020 was about moving the goalposts of success, 2021 is about instilling the culture of agile change and responsiveness. It is also about realizing the need for better employee care and concern, particularly in a time where much of the social constructs of support have been eroded or weakened by imposed work-from-home measures,” Balakrishnan added.
The MORS Group is committed to assisting companies, corporate leaders, and eminent industrialists in sharing a platform to exhibit leadership and sustainability excellence.
The company strongly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly UN SDG No. 8, which is to promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, Globe is also committed to support and uphold the 10 Principles on Human Rights, Labor, Environment and Anti-Corruption.
