New Delhi: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) achieved over 5 lakh sales in September’23, marking the highest sales for FY’2023-24. HMSI’s sales grew by 2% compared to September’22, with a total of 5,26,998 units. The domestic market accounted for 4,91,802 units, while exports increased by 19% to 35,196 units in September 2023.In corporate news, HMSI announced its association as an Associate sponsor of Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG), one of India’s oldest football clubs, for the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24, spanning 11 months.
On the product front, HMSI launched its flagship motorcycle, the Gold Wing Tour, and opened bookings. Additionally, the company introduced new offerings, including the Activa Limited Edition, SP125 Sports Edition, and Repsol Edition of the Hornet 2.0 and Dio 125. The product lineup expanded with the launch of the OBD2-compliant CB300F and CB200X.
In the realm of road safety awareness, HMSI conducted awareness campaigns in 11 cities across India: Thane (Maharashtra), Berhampur (Odisha), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Jamnagar (Gujarat), Ludhiana (Punjab), Pune (Maharashtra), Samastipur (Bihar), Gudivada (Andhra Pradesh), Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Midnapore (West Bengal), Jaipur (Rajasthan), and Davanagere (Karnataka). Additionally, the company celebrated the 4th anniversary of its Safety Driving Education Centres (SDEC) in Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) and Kozhikode (Kerala).

In motorsports news, during the inaugural Grand Prix of India, Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez secured the third position in the qualifying round, showcasing his potential. Meanwhile, his teammate Joan Mir delivered a strong performance, finishing in 5th place in the final race.
