Bongaigaon Refinery celebrates World Rhino Day


KOKRAJHAR: The World Rhino Day was celebrated on Friday by Bongaigaon Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Limited with full fervour sharing the message of saving the precious one-horned Rhino with a host of programmes.

Sources from the Bongaigaon Refinery said the day began with painting competition at Panbari Range of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve among various schools on the theme “Don’t Lock Horns with Nature-Stop Killing and Save the Rhino” aiming to celebrate one-horned rhino. The programme was graced by Rajen Choudhary, Forest Director Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve, S. Talukdar, Deputy Field Director, Manas National Park & Tiger Reserve, Roji Barman Forest Ranger, Prasanjit Das, SDPO, Bijni, Amardeep Guria,SM (CC& CSR), IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery and officials of IOCL BGR and Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve.

Similarly, a painting competition was organized by IOCL, BGR at Kendriya Vidyalaya, New Bongaigaon and Delhi Public School, Dhaligaon wherein a great number of students participated. As a part of World Rhino Day celebrations, an awarnesss campaign was also organized at Chirang, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar districts. IOCL Bongaigaon Refinery being a responsible corporate remain committed for creating awareness among people regarding importance of this incredible species with impactful programme in the three districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang and Bongaigaon for sharing the precious message “Save the Rhino” for a better tomorrow.
