IIT Kanpur, AW&EIL tie up to support defence startups under CSR pact

Kanpur, Apr 11 (KNN) The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur’s Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC) has signed a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agreement with Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AW&EIL) to provide financial support to startup ecosystem in India.

This partnership intends to encourage budding entrepreneurs with new technology and knowledge.

The agreement was signed at the Ordnance Factory, Kanpur, in presence of dignitaries from SIIC, IIT Kanpur and AW&EIL.

Speaking about the collaboration, Prof. Ankush Sharma, Professor-in-Charge, SIIC, IIT Kanpur, said, “The partnership between SIIC and AW&EIL is expected to produce a powerful synergistic effect that draws on the expertise and resources of both organisations to nurture startups focused on cutting-edge technology at IIT Kanpur.”

The comprehensive financial partnership between IIT Kanpur’s SIIC and AW&EIL under the CSR Policy, aims at stimulating growth of potential startups that prioritise innovations and are economically viable. 

To support the startups resources from both organisations will be utilised.  (KNN Bureau)
