Gamharia, Dec 20: Education is the mirror of society. Quality education can enable children to face global challenges. The cooperation of teachers in improving the academic standards of government schools is pivotal. The students need to possess general knowledge of various fields including sports, music and arts besides knowing what is in curriculum. This was observed by Ambuja Raj Laxmi, Regional Education Officer (REO), at a cultural programme organized at Upgraded Middle School (UMS), Hariharpur. The event was jointly organized by Craftman Automation Company and the school management.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the REO said the rural children were very talented notwithstanding an acute lack of basic infrastructure and adverse situations. She praised the company for discharging its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and appealed to its officials for helping in the school’s development. Earlier, the REO inaugurated a toilet and basketball court constructed by the company and dedicated it to the school management.
Also present on the occasion was the officer-in-charge of Gamharia police station, Rajeev Kumar. He said parents and teachers shared the responsibility of building children’s future. In the present times, it is important for parents to keep an eye on the activities of their children who are the future of the nation, he said, adding further that it was everyone’s responsibility to build the future of children.
VL Gangras, Vice President of Craftman Automation Company, said the school had built boundary walls, toilets, classrooms and libraries among various other facilities in over a dozen schools under its CSR policy. He said the company also worked with the goal to building a ‘Swachh’ (clean) and educated society.
Many other dignitaries were also present during the programme. They included the school Headmaster Harendra Pathak, Plant Head of the company B Suresh and CSR Manager Sanjay Kumar. A cultural event was also organized on the occasion. The programme was conducted by senior teacher Om Prakash Srivastava.
